I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Jonathan Gertler at OneMD on a Clinical Specialist position we needed to fill in Wollongong. We expand our search utilising the team at OneMD which straight away gave results.

With regional territories being difficult to find quality candidates, our internal process/advertisement saw only a handful of under qualified applicants. It was then suggested we expand our search utilising the team at OneMD which straight away gave results. After my first conversation with Jonathan outlining the role, expectations and territory, Jonathan had a couple candidates in mind who met the criteria. It was less than 2 days later, I was having the first interview with the person who was the successful applicant.

What I appreciated most from Jonathan was his ability to vet the candidates prior to our interview and give them a comprehensive understanding of the role and responsibilities. He also identified candidates with the types of transferable skills we need to see in a successful trauma team member. Jonathan gave me a brief update every day or every second day which kept the process moving quickly at a difficult time of the year. I don’t believe we would have found the type of highly driven individual we needed for this role, in the timeframe we did without the help of Jonathan and the team from OneMD.

I didn’t make it easy either.  I was really specific in what I was looking for and Nicola never gave up on finding me exactly that.

Having worked in one company for a number of years, it had been a long time since I had formally interviewed for a role.  Nicola gave me a really clear understanding of what to expect and how best to prepare.  She was available whenever I needed to ask a question and called me before and after each interview to encourage and provide feedback.  Nicola’s confidence gave me confidence.

Negotiations are always awkward and it was made so much better that I could have those conversations with someone I knew and trusted.  Nicola was amazing through the negotiation process and I achieved exactly what I was hoping for.

OneMD truly set me up for success.  From our initial conversations defining what I was looking for, through to starting in a role that really fits me, Nicola was open, thoughtful and encouraging.  The opportunities I was presented with aligned with my requirements and most importantly, my values.  I really am grateful for the time, effort and support provided to me by Nicola and OneMD and would highly recommend them to anyone considering looking for a change or a new challenge.
